How to choose a crypto casino: a 10-point checklist before you deposit

Payout record, licence, ID rules, bonus terms, limits and support. The checks that matter before your first deposit, in the order to do them.

Most guides rank casinos by bonus size. The bonus is the least important thing on this list. What matters is whether you can get your money out, how fast, and under which rules.

1. Payout record

Look for evidence that the casino actually pays: player reports, payout times you can verify, and how it handles complaints. On WhatOBet every casino page shows its stated payout time with its source, and players confirm it or report problems.

2. Complaints and how they end

A casino with complaints isn't automatically bad; every big casino gets some. Look at how they end. Does the casino reply? Are cases resolved? Check our complaints and the shame list.

3. Licence you can verify

Find the licence number and check it on the regulator's own website. A logo isn't enough. More in crypto casino licences explained.

4. ID (KYC) rules in writing

Know when the casino will ask for documents: at sign-up, above a withdrawal amount, or "at any time". The worst case is a casino that asks only after a big win. See what No KYC means.

5. Withdrawal limits and fees

Check the minimum and maximum withdrawal per day, week and month, and any withdrawal fees. A low weekly cap can turn a big win into months of waiting.

6. Bonus terms you can actually meet

Wagering, max bet, game weighting, max cashout and time limit. Run the numbers in our bonus calculator before opting in, or skip the bonus.

7. The coins and networks you use

Make sure the casino supports cheap networks for your coin, both for deposits and withdrawals. See best crypto for casino deposits.

8. Countries accepted

Read the restricted countries list. Playing from a restricted country, even by accident or with a VPN, is a common reason for confiscated winnings.

9. Support that answers

Ask live chat a specific question before depositing, for example "What's your maximum weekly withdrawal?". A clear, quick answer is a good sign.

10. Responsible gambling tools

Deposit limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion should be easy to find and use. If they're missing, that tells you how the casino thinks about its players.

Then test small

Deposit a small amount, play a little, and request a withdrawal. How that first withdrawal goes tells you more than any review.
