Between buying crypto and playing at a casino, you need somewhere to hold your coins. The wallet you choose affects fees, speed and, most of all, how safe your money is.
Why not send straight from an exchange?
You can, but many exchanges watch for transfers to and from gambling sites. Depending on the exchange and your country, that can mean a warning, a frozen withdrawal, extra questions or a closed account. Exchanges also can't always credit deposits that come back from a casino's hot wallet.
The usual setup is:
Exchange → your own wallet → casino → your own wallet → exchange
It adds one transfer each way, but it keeps your exchange account clean and gives you control.
Types of wallet
Mobile wallets (self-custody)
Apps where you hold the recovery phrase. They're free, support many coins and networks, and are the most common choice for casino players. If your phone is lost, you restore the wallet from the phrase.
Hardware wallets
Small devices that keep your keys offline. The safest option for savings. Less convenient for frequent small casino deposits, but good for keeping winnings you don't plan to play.
Browser extension wallets
Popular for Ethereum, Solana and other smart-contract networks. Convenient, but your browser becomes part of your security, so be careful with extensions and links.
Custodial wallets
The exchange or app holds the keys for you. Simple, but the same restrictions on gambling transfers often apply.
Security basics that actually matter
- Write the recovery phrase on paper. Never photograph it, never store it in email or cloud notes, and never type it into a website.
- No one legitimate will ever ask for your phrase. Not the casino, not support, not us.
- Copy-paste addresses and check the first and last characters. Some malware swaps addresses in your clipboard.
- Match the network. USDT on Tron and USDT on BNB Chain are different networks. See best crypto for casino deposits.
- Send a test amount first to any new address.
- Keep winnings off the casino. A casino balance is not a wallet. Withdraw what you don't plan to play.
Which coins to keep in your wallet
Hold a small amount of each network's native coin for fees: TRX for Tron, ETH for Ethereum, SOL for Solana, BNB for BNB Chain. A wallet full of USDT on Tron with zero TRX can't send anything.
Fees at a glance
Network fees go to the blockchain, not the wallet app, although some apps add their own fee for swaps. Compare before swapping inside a wallet; a dedicated exchange is often cheaper.
