Depositing Bitcoin at a crypto casino takes a few minutes once you've done it once. The first time, most problems come from the wallet side, not the casino. Here's the whole path, step by step.
Before you start
You need two things: some Bitcoin, and a wallet you control.
- Buying BTC. Exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken or Binance let you buy Bitcoin with a card or bank transfer. Availability depends on your country.
- A wallet you control. Many exchanges block or flag transfers to gambling sites, and some close accounts for it. Move your BTC to a personal wallet first (for example a mobile wallet where you hold the recovery phrase), then send it to the casino from there.
Write down your wallet's recovery phrase on paper and keep it offline. Anyone with that phrase can take your coins, and no one can recover it for you.
Step by step
- Open the casino's cashier and choose Deposit, then Bitcoin (BTC).
- Check the network. For Bitcoin it should say Bitcoin or BTC. Some casinos also offer Lightning, which is faster and cheaper but needs a Lightning-capable wallet.
- Copy the deposit address, or scan the QR code with your wallet. Casinos may change your address, so copy a fresh one each time.
- Paste it into your wallet and compare the first and last four characters with the casino page. Clipboard malware that swaps addresses exists, and this check catches it.
- Choose the fee and send. Normal speed is fine for most deposits. Your balance usually updates after one network confirmation.
Fees and timing
Casinos rarely charge for deposits, but the Bitcoin network does. The fee depends on how busy the network is, not on the amount you send, so very small deposits can lose a big share to fees.
| Network | Typical speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (on-chain) | 10–60 minutes | Fee varies with network demand |
| Lightning | Seconds | Needs a Lightning wallet; not every casino supports it |
| USDT on Tron | 1–3 minutes | Often the cheapest stablecoin option |
Common mistakes
- Wrong network. Sending BTC on a network the casino doesn't list can lose the coins for good. If in doubt, send a small test amount first.
- Below the minimum. Deposits under the casino's minimum may never be credited. Check the minimum in the cashier.
- Old address. Always copy a fresh deposit address from the cashier.
- Chasing a bonus. Read the bonus terms before you deposit. Some bonuses lock your deposit until you meet the wagering requirement.
Keep it under control
Decide how much you can afford to lose before you deposit, and count it in your own currency, not in coins. Bitcoin's price moves, and that makes it easy to lose track. If gambling stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists free, confidential help.
